Allysa Salena's writing journey is truly inspiring. Starting as a child facing challenges with a stutter and delayed reading abilities, she overcame these obstacles with the support of her parents and a speech pathologist. This early struggle led her to develop an immense love for reading and writing.

During her pre-teen years, Allysa worked at her mother's cleaning company. After long days of work, her mother would take her to Barnes and Nobles, where Allysa would indulge in her passion by devouring 3-4 books each week.

In high school, she actively participated in the creative writing club, fostering her passion for poetry and descriptive prose. Encouraged by her parents and high school guidance counselor, she became a first-generation college student studying at West Virginia University.

At WVU, Allysa continued her involvement in the creative writing club, interned at the writing studio, and served as the fiction editor for the college's literary magazine. Guided by authors and mentors Mark Braziatis, Mary Ann Samynn, and Christa Parravani, Allysa graduated with a degree in English, focusing on both Creative Writing and Professional Writing and Editing.
